Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Rob Kardashian attacked his ex Blac Chyna in a series of explicit Instagram posts, including photos of her in the nude and a video that appears to show her having sex with another man.
  • Chyna responded to Kardashian’s attack on Snapchat, accusing him of domestic violence.
  • Later, Kardashian tweeted that his Instagram account was shut down, and continued to post from his Twitter account.
  • Chyna hired lawyer Lisa Bloom and was granted a temporary restraining order against Kardashian.
  • The Kardashian family has not spoken publicly about the drama.

If you followed Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s on-again, off-again relationship on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and the short-lived reality show “Rob and Chyna,” you’ll know that they ended on bad terms.

It’s clear that Kardashian is still bitter over their breakup back in February.

On July 5 in a series of Instagram posts, Kardashian accused Chyna of having weight loss surgery and posted a video without her consent that appeared to show her having sex with another man.

The 30-year-old appeared to publicly shame his ex — with whom he has a 7-month-old daughter, Dream — in a series of Instagram posts that he shared with his 9.4 million followers. Among the insulting posts, Kardashian shared a video body-shaming the 29-year-old reality star, who he claims had weight loss surgery after giving birth, as well as a series of explicit NSFW posts on his Instagram, including a video that Chyna allegedly sent him that he said showed her having sex with another man.

The first video that Kardashian posted was of Chyna in a hospital bed being taken to another room. Kardashian claims the video (the second post in the screenshot from his now-deleted Instagram below) shows her being whisked off to have weight loss surgery.

His full caption reads:

Everyone wonders how Chyna lost all that weight after the baby and she lies to everyone but no I’m such a great Husband that on our anniversary I paid [$100,000] to do this surgery to get all everything fixed as much as they could. And then guess what she did after she was all healed when I was by her side the entire time. She left me and my baby which she had out of spite to get back at her other baby daddy. I can’t believe [you] would disrespect me like this.

In the video, Chyna thanks her ex and he says he loves her. The content of the video, in which Kardashian is supportive, feels very much at odds with the body-shaming message he posted on Instagram.

In another now-deleted Instagram post, Kardashian wrote: “I had my daughter out of Love but this woman left the second I paid for her body surgery.”

Kardashian didn’t stop at publicly body-shaming Chyna.

In a now-deleted video, he shared a video of his ex-girlfriend that allegedly shows her having sex, as well as posting a photo of a man she allegedly slept with and several screenshots of iPhone notes that accuse her of cheating on him and doing drugs.

Things got messier as he continued to level allegations at Chyna about her past and even exchanged words with rapper TI.

Kardashian shamed Chyna for breastfeeding for four weeks “because she wanted to drink alcohol so bad.” He wrote in another note that he has spent a lot of money supporting her, shelling out $250,000 for jewelry in one day.

One of the posts appears to show a text message exchange between the two of them, with what some people believe to be Chyna’s number at the top. (You can see the exchange in the third on the top row of this screenshot of Kardashian’s Instagram below.)

He later reposted a comment from the rapper TI, and responded by accusing him of paying Chyna to have a threesome with him and his ex Tiny Harris. Though the photo (and Kardashian’s caption) has since been removed, she can see TI’s response in the first post on the top row of the screenshot above.

At first, People reports that many of Kardashian’s Instagram posts were being taken down, though it was unclear if they were deleted by the social media site or Kardashian himself.

After Kardashian’s Instagram attack, Chyna responded on Snapchat and accused her ex-fiancé of domestic violence, according to People.

“Rob [you] did all this but [you] beat me up and try act [like] it never happen[ed]!!!!!” she wrote in a now-deleted Snapchat post. “[You] put hand on me I swear on god!!!! On my kids [I’m telling the truth,] but I’m supposed to be quiet because you’re a Kardashian.”

A second post, which was also deleted, read: “The light will come to the light.”

Twitter users responded to Kardashian’s insulting Instagrams as well, pointing out how “wrong” he was to post the explicit footage of his ex and how he may have broken the law by posting the reportedly nude images of Chyna without her consent.

Then Kardashian’s Instagram account was abruptly deleted.

Later, it appeared that Kardashian had deleted his Instagram account and all of his posts had disappeared.

However, the reality star quickly took to Twitter to explain that his account had been shut down.

Kardashian continued to blast Chyna with graphic images on his Twitter account instead. The nude photos of his ex-fiancé remained on his account for a full half an hour before they were removed.

He posted a series of tweets reiterating some of his earlier comments on Instagram.

On July 7, Chyna’s lawyer announced they will be seeking restraining orders against Rob Kardashian.

After it was reported that Chyna was threatening legal action against her ex-fiancé, celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom announced that she is representing Chyna and will be seeking restraining orders in court on Monday, July 10.

Hours later, Bloom posted a second tweet with a statement.

 Here’s her full statement:

“I am very proud to represent Blac Chyna as she stands up for her rights as a woman and mother against her ex, Rob Kardashian.

Yesterday Chyna retained me, and today we filed for temporary restraining orders to protect her rights.

Mr. Kardashian, you are now on notice: revenge porn is illegal. Cyberbullying your ex is harassment. Chyna ended your relationship months ago and she has the right to live as she chooses, work as she chooses, dress as she chooses, date who she chooses, and be intimate with who she chooses. Chyna and I both believe that this is an important women’s rights issue, as too many women and girls have been slut-shamed by exes.

It stops now. Your attempts to shame and control her are hereby rejected.

Her body, her choice. Her life, her choice. Back off.

On Monday at 8:30am Chyna, my co-counsel Walter Mosley and I will appear in Los Angeles Superior Court, 111 N. Hill St., Dept. 8, Los Angeles, CA to request the appropriate restraining orders to require Mr. Kardashian to behave like a grownup toward the mother of his baby.”

Before Bloom made the announcement, attorney Walter Mosley — who is Bloom’s co-counsel on the case — told People on July 5 that he was “exploring all legal remedies and protections available to [his] client.” On July 6, he called Kardashian’s social media tirade an “assault” in a similar statement to Page Six.

Lawyers told INSIDER that Kardashian could face jail time and a fine if Chyna were to pursue legal action.

“If charged with California’s misdemeanor criminal statute against nonconsensual porn, Kardashian could face six months of jail time and a fine,” Carrie Goldberg, a sexual privacy attorney and a board member of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, told INSIDER.

Lisa Bloom, who has represented other celebrities in similar cases like Mischa Barton, also spoke to INSIDER on July 6, before her July 7 announcement that she would be representing Chyna.

Bloom said that Chyna could also sue Kardashian for damages.

“Chyna […] likely has a private right of action against Mr. Kardashian for money damages for the emotional distress he has surely caused her,” she told INSIDER.

“Attempting to slut shame the mother of his child is truly sick behavior as the law recognizes,” Bloom said. “I encourage Ms. Chyna to stand up for her rights as a woman to control which images of her own body will be made public.”

On July 10, Chyna gave her first interview since the scandal, telling “Good Morning America” that she was “devastated” after Kardashian’s social media attack.

“I was devastated, of course. I’m like, ‘How could somebody, like, post these pictures of me?'” Chyna told ABC host Linsey Davis. “And I’m like, wow, okay, like, this is a person that I trusted. I just felt […] betrayed.”

Davis reported that Chyna had told her that Kardashian physically abused her in April, and that she plans to keep joint custody of Dream.

Chyna addressed why she sent her ex a video with another man as well.

“I’ve been broken up with Rob since December and it’s like, if somebody keeps pokin’ at you and pokin’ at you and pokin’ at you, and keep pokin’ at you, you’re eventually, you’re gonna pop,” she said, adding that she thought, “Maybe if I send this video to him, then he’ll just leave me alone.”

“Any explicit photos that she may have posted in the past, that’s her choice,” her lawyer said. “This is like saying that a woman can’t be raped if she previously had sex with someone. It’s her body, her choice, each and every time.”

The reality star also replied to Kardashian’s claims that alleged she only had Dream with him to get back at her ex Tyga, who previously dated Kylie Jenner (Kardashian’s half-sister). “Nobody was out to make a baby out of spite,” she said.

Here’s a clip from the interview (more of which will appear on July 10’s “Nightline”):

On the same morning of July 10, a court hearing resulted in a victory for Chyna as she was granted a temporary restraining order against Kardashian.

E! News was among the first to report that a court in Los Angeles granted a temporary restraining order against Kardashian. According to the same report, Kardashian did not appear in court himself, though his lawyers Robert Shapiro and Sam Klein appeared on his behalf.

Chyna’s attorney Lisa Bloom confirmed her court victory in a tweet.

Kardashian’s lawyer Robert Shapiro spoke in a press conference after the hearing.

“We agreed to stipulate to the temporary restraining order and all conditions attached thereto,” he said, according to Page Six. “Our primary interest going forward for Mr. Kardashian is the health and welfare of the baby [Dream Kardashian], and both parents are going to work towards that goal. I personally on Robert Kardashian’s behalf apologized and offered our regrets for what has taken place in the past couple of days, and now we move forward to do one thing and one thing only: whatever’s in the best interest of this child.”

Shapiro allegedly told TMZ that Kardashian’s social media activity on July 5 was “a spontaneous reaction that he regrets.” The site also quoted him saying that “Rob’s only concern is for the well-being of baby Dream.”

Speaking after Shapiro in the conference, Bloom said:

“The judge gave us everything we asked for, which is a set of very strong restraining orders, restraining him from coming near her and cyberbullying; restraining him from posting anything about her online … As we have said all along revenge porn is a form of domestic abuse and a crime in California … We’re just delighted about the victory this morning.”

Chyna also gave a short statement. “I would like first and foremost to thank the judge for giving me the restraining order to protect me,” she said. “Now I’m going to get back to co-parenting Dream.”

Bloom told Page Six after the press conference that she would be working with Kardashian’s lawyers to formalize a co-parenting arrangement between Chyna and her ex-fiancé.

“She’s not trying to prevent Rob from seeing his baby,” Bloom told the website. “She believes a father should stay in contact with his child … She wants to have a healthy, peaceful co-parenting relationship.”
